Case Studies - Hampton Junior School

hampton mobile classroomHampton Junior School, Middlesex, is housed in a building that’s over a hundred years old, as the school has grown and the pupil intake has increased, the building has found itself increasingly challenged to find room for all its needs.

Hampton Junior School decided an additional mobile classroom would provide a productive solution to this increasing problem. An additional classroom would also help cover up an undesired hole they had on their school grounds too.

After assessing their needs, Hampton decided they didn’t need a massive extra classroom to hold dozens of students at a time; they simply needed an additional room that could be used for meetings.

The building provides relief for staff who are looking for somewhere quite to work on their PPA, or just somewhere to have a quiet meeting away from the hustle of this busy school. Despite the considerable size of this schools building, the outside building is one of the only rooms which has found itself constantly booked – it’s always in use.

Many of the teachers sometimes find themselves with one or two pupils who need a little extra attention, the mobile classroom is the perfect place to take them, it’s away from the main school building so they’re not easily distracted and because it’s somewhere new it’s seen as exciting and different which makes them more willing to concentrate.

This attitude also works the other way around too, small music classes fit perfectly in this small room, without the noise carrying far enough to be a distraction to the rest of the school.
